The goal of this article is to give you the awareness, information, education and guidance to help you make the best decision for you, your family, and anybody else involved in your debt/credit matters.

Please click on this link for a list of lawyers who may be able to help you. We cannot guarantee, endorse or tell whether or not the lawyers on the list will be able to help you. They’re on the list because they may specialize in debt/credit matters and appear to have high reviews. Please be aware that there are two tabs at the bottom of the list. The tab on the right is for lawyers who specialize in bankruptcy. The tab on the left is a list of lawyers who may focus on debt defense/Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and or Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Often debt buyers do not have adequate proof that they own your debt, and cannot obtain such proof from your original creditor to satisfy a court. Sometimes your best defense is a good offense. It may be where you’re running away from the ghosts, but you may be able go eat the ghosts if you have the power pellet (if they violated state and or federal consumer protection laws).
Courts have ruled that debt buyers are down the line junk peddlers without enough (or any) account level documentation, which is what would be necessary for their claim to stand up / for them to prevail in court. This means that they can’t beat you in court, should you decide to hire a lawyer to represent you or defend yourself. Many lawyers may take on the case with $0 up front cost to you. They may get paid by the violators, which are either the debt collectors/buyers and or the consumer reporting agencies. Please let us know how it goes after you speak with the lawyer(s). We want to make sure that we keep an up to date list of lawyers who are highly rated for people, who may benefit from this knowledge / area of expertise after you.
